Last Night's Sunset

So pretty!:D

Quote of the Day

“Let your cares drive you to God. I shall not mind if you have many of them if each one leads you to prayer. If every fret makes you lean more on the Beloved, it will be a benefit.”

A Word to the Wise

I went to the dentist yesterday for a hygiene appointment.
I found out that I have to have my wisdom teeth removed.
It will probably be within a few months.
I am not looking forward to it!

Water Restrictions

We got a notice yesterday, saying that our water is being restricted. This has been happening to a lot of people this year.
I was hoping and praying that this wouldn't happen.
Oh well, we just have to be more careful now.
I hope we get a lot of rain this year!

Car Show

We went to a Volkswagen 'Bug' car show yesterday. My Grandpa's neighbor invited us to come along, because he was entering a green 'Bug' in the show.
We only stayed a couple of hours, because it was very hot, and they weren't going to announce the winners for a few more hours.
I enjoyed looking at all the neat and cute cars! My favorite was a red Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, with 2 white stripes down the middle.
I love old/older cars!

'The Rusty Rockers'

Last night was the last summer concert at our town park.
The guys who played there this time, were called 'the Rusty Rockers.'
They were very good! They played and sang old songs from the 40's, 50's 60's, etc.
We really enjoyed them!
I hope they come back next year, too! :)

(I couldn't get a good photo, because I was at the wrong angle  the whole time. Drat!)

Another Scripture Quote of the Day

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
Revelation 21:13-14

Free Again!

This woman was supposed to die for not renouncing Christ.
Since she was pregnant, she was being allowed to live (chained) until her baby was born, then she would be executed.
Many people were outraged. Because of that and God's mercy, She is now free again!
Praise the LORD!

Today's Quote From Scripture

The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.

Psalm 24:1-2

Sweet and Sour Chicken Day

I made sweet and sour chicken for dinner tonight.
It was really good!
I love sweet and sour chicken. :)

It was hard when I was frying the chicken, though. Oil kept splattering me. It hurt a lot. The oil was 350 degrees after all. I had to use a deep skillet, because I don't have a deep fryer, yet. I also had to wear long sleeves, and gloves, too. I got pretty warm! Oh well, I had fun anyway.  :)

(Onion, carrots, and green and red Bell Peppers (I also added pineapple chunks later) .)
(Chicken in batter)
(Sauce)
(Frying time)
(Done!)
 (Time to eat!)
(Yum!)

"Immortal, Invisible"

Berries and Soup

We  picked even more blackberries this morning. We got several cups worth again.
Also, I made some potato soup a little while ago. It was really good! I tried a recipe I've never used before. It turned out to be a very good one. It tastes very yummy, too!

Today's Quote

“This life therefore is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness, not health, but healing, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it, the process is not yet finished, but it is going on, this is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.”

Another Song

Quote of the Day

Martin Luther

“So when the devil throws your sins in your face and declares that you deserve death and hell, tell him this: "I admit that I deserve death and hell, what of it? For I know One who suffered and made satisfaction on my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God, and where He is there I shall be also!”

Today's Quote

“Evil things are easy things: for they are natural to our fallen nature. Right things are rare flowers that need cultivation.”

Another Park Concert

We went to another concert in the park last night/evening.
It was very good!
There were two women and two men on saxophones.
They played all kinds of music. They played songs from the 50s, and 70s, a classical music medley, a Beetle's song, a few Disney movie songs, and much more! My favorites were ' The Pink Panther' theme, and 'The Andy Griffith Show' theme song (the Fishin' Hole).
It was fun! :)
(I'll post a couple of pictures later.)

More Music in the Park

There was another concert in our town park the day-before-yesterday.
Three guys on guitars, and and one the drums, played
and sang some Country, and Rock N' Roll music.
There were a lot of people there this time.
They were pretty good!
(I wasn't able to get many good pictures this time. This is the best one.)

Today's Quote

“Friendship is one of the sweetest joys of life. Many might have failed beneath the bitterness of their trial had they not found a friend.”

Fishing

Got back from fly fishing a while ago. I didn't catch anything, but at least I had a good time practicing. :)

Jam Making Day

We got finished making jam a little while ago.
We made "regular" blackberry jam, and blackberry freezer jam (because of a slight mistake we made) .
It was our first time making it. We had fun. We were able to make 7 small jars with one recipe.  I can't wait to eat it! :)
