One of our cats caught a House Sparrow.
After I managed to save it from getting eaten, my Mom brought it into the house to show my Sister.
We put it into one of the bird nests I originally made for WildCare, but then decided to keep. We then moved it to a quiet place so it could rest.
A few hours later, it looked like it was doing pretty well. It was trying to fly, and it was eating out of our hands and drinking water. It also sat on our fingers and chirped a few times. We were very exited! :)
This morning though, our Mom found that it had died in the night. we were sad to hear about that.
I'm just glad we were able to help it out. Even if it was only for a short time.
(Thinking about sparrows just made me think of one of my favorite Bible verses, and one of my favorite hymns:)
'"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."'
Matthew 10:29-31
'"His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."'
-Civilla D. Martin
Aw, that's sad, Annie! :( sorry.
